Closing the Gender Gap

Gender inequality is the idea that men and women are not equal and that gender affects an individual’s living experience.

It also can be defined as a legal, social and cultural situation in which sex and/or gender determine different rights and dignity for women and men, which are reflected in their unequal access to or enjoyment of rights, as well as the assumption of stereotyped social and cultural roles.

In Sierra Leone, there is much to be done to close the gender gap between men and women.
