Representing the North – West Region, Ms Isatu Moses is a resident of Kambia Town and is currently a final year student of University of Management and Technology pursuing a degree in Logistic and Procurement Management. Over the years she has served in various capacities such as Deputy Youth Chairperson Kambia District Youth Council, Enumerator with Street Child, Minister of Gender Affairs Kambia District Student Association KaDSA 2018-2019 where she currently serves now as the National Program Coordinator 2019-2020.
During her chiefdom tours in recent years, noticed the high level of vulnerability mostly among young girls and women resulting to unwanted pregnancies, early marriages, lack of sustainable income generating activities to raise funds to care for their young leading to high dependency on others in communities to mention but a few.
As a result of how severe the impact of this challenge was within her district, with the support of like – minded colleagues she founded the Timap for Women Empowerment Organization in Kambia District raising funds from philanthropists and investing in skills development and livelihood support programmes which included the provision of tools, equipment, food items and cash disbursement to young women and girls to help cushion the effect of their immediate challenges worsened by the lockdown instituted to curtail the spread of the Covid 19 virus within communities whilst progressively empowering beneficiaries to explore a more sustainable means of livelihood. A total of 650 beneficiaries were supported by her organization.
In 2021 her Team looks forward to continue advocating for women and girls empowerment. Lobby for funds to continue supporting the young girls within Kambia District whilst increasing her operational coverage areas to include Karene and Port Loko districts.
